Expedition Results

What a weekend!! The 2009 Dave Boyd Adventure Race was great! The Expedition Race winners are Team Trakkers (Monika Sattler - VA, John Scheidhauer - TN, Tom Ambrose - FL, and David Ashley - NE). Although weather related issues (see race photos) forced race officials to shorten the course, Team Trakkers and 2nd place team Too Cool Racing (Art Cook - TX/Too Cool Racing, Robyn Cantor - TX/Too Cool Racing, Kenny Farrow - TX/Houston Adventure Racing Team, and Tina Burgos - TX/Team Peanut Butter) spent more than 30 hours of "Real" adventure racing in near freezing temperatures, thick fog, rain and high winds. These racers are "real" adventure racers!
Team Too Cool Racing kept team Team Trakkers pushing the pace for most of the 60+ miles of paddling in lakes, rivers, and creeks and 60+ miles of trekking. After a short 15 mile bike with harsher weather closing in and 30+ hours of racing completed, Team Trakkers was in the lead and declared the winner.
